SUSAN HODARA
journalism memoir
────

I write about what I know, yet it is through writing that I learn to truly understand my subjects.

As a journalist, I have reported on the arts, personalities, travel, real estate and business. My articles have appeared frequently in the New York Times and in other publications including Communication Arts, Harvard Magazine and others.

As a memoirist, I write about my past and my present. My pieces have been published in a variety of literary journals. I am co-author of the collaborative memoir Still Here Thinking of You: A Second Chance With Our Mothers (Big Table Publishing, 2013).

As an editor, I enter the perspective of the writers I work with in order to hone their writing – from story to sentences, word choice to punctuation – so it communicates clearly, precisely and elegantly what they want to say.
