I write about what I know, yet it is through writing that I learn to truly understand my subjects.

As a freelance journalist, I report on the arts as well as interior design, personalities, travel, real estate, and business. My articles have appeared in publications including the New York Times, Communication Arts, Harvard Magazine, Wesleyan Magazine and others.

As a memoirist, I write about my past and my present. My pieces have been published in a variety of anthologies and literary journals.

I also work as an editor, and I have taught memoir writing since 2002.
